U.S. Green Card holders can live long-term in any of the 50 states in the United States; legally work and/or start a business in the USA; access educational programs; get a Social Security Card; open a bank account, apply for a driver’s license in the state where they live; travel from and return to the United States (according to certain regulations); receive Social Security and Medicare benefits (if eligible); and apply for U.S. citizenship and an American passport after living in the United States five years and meeting other criteria.
